Ok, so now I am leaving soon and I am sad. I dont want to leave, but at the same time I am so excited to eat goldfish and cheezeIts. I know, it's weird. It is the little things you start to miss. On the other hand, I am going to Rome this weekend! YES! I'm actually excited to take a trip on my own, it should be very exciting. I want to see so many things and I only have two days too see it all! I have wanted to go to Rome for so long, but it is supposed to rain, so we will see what the Roman gods have in store for me. Life has been good. I have been sick (BIG surprise) and had a fever yesterday. Well, the fact is I like to go out, even if I am sick (well, not when I have a fever, I stay in for those hard times).
Life in Spain is so much different than life in the United States. People are so laid back, They have siesta everyday. They don't have to pay for Health insurance or going to University. It makes me wonder why Americans are so stressed all the time. I believe that some of it has to do with what we need or want in life that should be free, but costs money. That would be education and health care. People always tell me that Americans are always in a rush and so nervous when something goes wrong. I think some of it has to do with the fact that we have so much responsibility in order to have the things we want. We need an education to survive in the world. Just things to think about. I have alot of free time. Not sure if you noticed. It is nice to live in such a stress-free environment where people take life one day a a time. I could get used to this. By the way, seistas have to come to America. Taking a nap midday and relaxing is the greatest thing ever!
Before I leave I want to:
- See Flamingo
- Go to Granada, Malaga, and Sevilla.
- Ride a vesba.
Love your blogs girl. Glad to see youre having fun. I know its always what you wanted at any cost. And with that...
ReplyDeleteThe Spanish pay vast sums of money via taxation for a social infrastructure that doesnt work. The country, like greece and ireland, is in debt up to its ears and just plain flat broke. They, like most of Europe, have surpassed their annual GDP, but Spain sadly faring worse than Europe and its because of these social programs like "free" health care and university. If its not the reason, why are they cutting back these programs? The top most of the worlds best universities in the world are in the US. The top 10 are all US. There are a few exceptional universities in EU but the university system in europe is just the next step after high school. You know this from the Czech Rep. As far as heath-care goes, if anything has been proven in the last 60 years, its that government bureaucracy drive of the cost of private care. Its not free in the EU either. They still pay into it but receive worse care. If thats not true, why do the richest people in their countries come to the US for major treatment and surgeries? A 35 hour work week in Europe is the norm but that is decreasing as inflation and unemployment are rising. 2 months off work is also the average yearly time off in Europe. Imagine what that time off does to an economy, especially a sinking one. I could go on forever, you know this! Ive loved every minute of the time ive spent i europe, its a beautiful continent. Im glad to see youre taking it all in. As you take all its "newness" and novelty, give it all a bit of skepticism too. Things are rapidly degrading in Europe.
